France’s recovery money fuels a not-so-green hydrogen hype
France will invest €2 billion of its recovery money on hydrogen. But with renewables production lagging behind, where would hydrogen actually come from?
France is set to obtain €16.8 billion from structural funds (including the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund and the Cohesion Fund) and €900 million from the Just Transition Fund. Notably, it will also receive €37.4 billion in grants from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, making it the third largest receiver of Recovery funding after Italy and Spain.
