Portuguese recovery money risks of drowning in another useless dam
The Portuguese government is planning to use EU Recovery cash for a dam that is not needed, and carrying severe environmental and social risks.
Portugal will obtain its largest share of EU subsidies from structural funds (€22.5 billion, including the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund and the Cohesion Fund). It will also receive EU subsidies also under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (€13.2 billion in grants) and the Just Transition Fund (€0.2 billion).
